Hey! Welcome to my new blog! I've always done vlogs on YouTube throughout high school and I've had journals since 2017, but I've never written anything for anyone else to see so this is something new to me!
A little bit about me is that I am a creative and studious kid (and yes, I still call myself a kid even though I just turned 22), I have twenty million playlists on Spotify, and I'm a night owl even though classes have me waking up early. My favorite band is a local Tampa band called NIGHTBREAKERS who I've been following since 2016 before they changed their name. I'm so proud of how far they've come, and the fact that they still remember me when I go to their concerts means the world to me. They're like my older brothers. Stereotypical thing to bring up next but my favorite colors are sky blue and yellow, and my favorite flower is a daisy!
I'm currently taking five classes as a mass communications major at the University of South Florida for Spring 2025. Those are audience analytics, communications law and democracy, writing for radio and TV, visual literacy, and Spanish 2. My concentration is in video and documentary production. What I hope to do with this degree is create lasting memories for clubs and organizations with short and long films. I also plan to create student showcases as part of my visual portfolio, but as a way for these students to get to tell their stories. Who knows, maybe I'll create my own media studio!
Education has always been instilled as an important aspect of my life growing up. With my mother being a teacher, I was always surrounded by the school system, and I hold myself to high standards when it comes to school. I started taking dual enrollment classes with Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) in my junior year of high school, finishing up all of my English credits for high school a year early. In junior year, after accidentally getting all A's in the first quarter, I made it her mission to finish the rest of that year and my senior year with all A's. Within those two years, I only finished 1 class out of all 13 needed with a B. It's safe to say I'm a hustler.
Come my sophomore year of college, I was introduced to student life which changed my life completely for the better. I participated in Student Government for the first time, and throughout that year developed myself and my confidence in the department. I grew my leadership skills to heights I'd never even imagined before. Knowing I made a difference in people's lives makes me feel good about myself. I also helped people develop their leadership skills as the 2023-2024 Collegewide Student Government President of Pasco-Hernando State College. Being the Student Government President, I helped up-and-coming students develop their leadership skills and confidence. During my presidency, it was important to me to develop new leaders to take over not only my position but also the positions of my friends who would be graduating alongside me that year. I represented thousands of students and brought the weekly attendance up to 50 active members with an average of 10 active clubs. I had a full executive board with 5 Vice Presidents, a Collegewide Treasurer, and a Collegewide Secretary, and 20 senators throughout five campuses. I was blessed with the opportunity to bond with my executive board before we stepped into our positions, so we were a well-oiled machine before we started serving the student body! During that year, I was also continuing my positions of Co-President and Secretary for our Human Services Club, positions I held in the 2022-2023 academic year alongside being a West Campus Senator for SGA. It was a wonderful experience serving as president, but the transition from PHSC to USF was a little rough as me and my friends split up to different schools. One went to UCF, one to FSU, one to UF, and a few stayed at PHSC. So my first semester at USF was really to get acclimated to the big university life instead of a small state college rather than getting involved.
This was a lot of information all over the place but that's how my brain operates so we're all going to have to get used to it lol. Thank you for reading my yap, it was fun getting to talk about myself and what I've done in the past. These entries will have some themes to them so it hopefully won't be all over the place.
