ATLANTA — A 33-year-old man was shot in the arm by his wife while sitting in the front yard of their Atlanta home on Saturday because she was mad at him, said Atlanta Police Department.
Steven Rumtrigger, a schoolteacher, was airlifted to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. A gun was found in the trash can next to the driveway covered in a pizza box and empty beer cans. Drugs and other guns were found in the house, with two dogs and a cat. Rumtrigger is expected to make a full recovery. The wife’s name has not yet been released.
“This is such a shock to me because they are nice people and they were here at my house last week,” said Uyen Walters, a friend and neighbor of the Rumtriggers.

By Jamye Cardello-Peters
BOSTON — A 53-year-old man was sentenced to three decades in a Boston state prison on Friday afternoon after killing his mother by giving her an overdose of pain medication, said the Boston Police Department.
During a welfare check, the Boston Police found the victim in her bed in the apartment Allbert Nickerson shared with her. Nickerson confessed to the crime after being interviewed for seven hours by detectives. He sold his mother’s car, boat and vacation house to buy his girlfriend a ranch in Texas four days after the murder, according to investigators. Boston General Hospital officials, his previous job of 33 years, plan to hold a press conference Thursday at 9:30 AM.
“Last time I saw him he was crying. I have not talked to him since he was arrested. I’m glad he is going to be locked up for a while,” said Nickerson’s friend, Juan Fischer.
